Stephen Presley thoughts on Game of Thrones Season 8 upcoming release!

Producer/director/Actor, Stephen Presley, put his talents on display for over 6 months of shooting the final season of one of the most remarkable TV productions in history. Game of Thrones to date has 502 award Nominations and 306 wins and counting. The show has boasted Gross profit of over 1 Billion USD a year. The show has won a Golden Globe and 38 Primetime Emmy awards. When asked about the conclusion of the series Presley stated he felt torn.

“I feel kinda torn about it all coming to an end. I have always been a fan of the show. Never would I have thought I would find myself here (Belfast, NI). I played 3 Roles in the production of season 8 and pitched in anywhere I could to help the production. Thrones became my full time job. It’s the life blood of many in Northern Ireland and that’s why it hard to see people go. I recall Emilia (Clarke) having a tough time with this all ending and it brought her to tears in one instance and everyone as we wrapped production. I new to the production so it was harder for me as a long time fan of the series watch the beginning of the end of an Era in Television Drama. So yeah, it’s bitter sweet for everyone from the top to bottom.”

When asked about any details of the show it was short and straight to the point:

“Look, I couldn’t tell you anything even if I wanted….what would be the joy in that. I think it’s beautiful and should unfold in front of the viewers eyes. That’s where I have to leave it. Multiple units shot at the same time which is the norm for the industry and it was shot out of sequence so it would be hard to say what’s really going on regardless of being there everyday 14 hrs a day on set. I think that is one of the fascinating parts of the production magic. How do we efficiently and effectively turn words into images and images into a platform the human mind to have some kinda directed or guided emotional experience. Then putting all the pieces together in post. The people that work at Thrones are just as big of fans as those that are sitting back home in America.”

Stephen had been working in Munich, Germany rebranding New York International Pictures when he got the call.

“I was just back in Belfast for a family visit and I got the call. I was so excited that I just said yes immediately. I didn’t even know what I was saying yes to and I called a man on the phone maim….Oh I’m so lucky I botched so much. They didn’t have any knowledge of me and cast me as supporting artist in one of the hardest roles in history which involved many bootcamps. I kept the role and after several days (54) of the cold weather and the smallest amount of frostbite on my tip of my nose to keep the job. It became clear fast to me I was there because very few could handle the weather for more than a day or two. I then was elevated to different opportunities. I worked on the set for over 6 months and made good friendships. I would like to comment on the staff of Game of Thrones. They were wonderful to me, fantastic people. David Benioff and DB Weiss are absolutely class individuals. They treated everyone with respect! Kit Harrington went to far to go out of his way to just be one of the guys from time to time. Just everything was amazing and in retrospect it was an amazing experience. If you want to know something about the set or the season… I just can’t tell you about my experiences and my role in the production, but it had a good finish. I will always look back on those days and say that was absolutely a blast! ”

Since the shooting ended in July, Presley has been traveling the globe working with some of the top actors in the world. To name a few: Danny Trejo (Machette, Spy Kids, From Dusk till Dawn), Robert Davi (James Bond Villian, Goonies Villain), Damian Chapa (Street Fighter, UnderSiege) , and Angus Macfadyen (Robert De Bruce, Braveheart, Saw IV, Equilibrium). Stephen’s StarMeter from Amazons IMDb shot from up over 2,000,000 places in the past year landing him as a regular fixture in the top 50,000 most famous people in the industry at least by Amazon’s IMDb Metrics. He has hit up to 33,000 IMDb Starmeter without his Credits added yet for Game of Thrones or Starz new tv series Dublin Murders. With these hitting the metrics he could see the top ten thousand by the end of the year. To put this into perspective:

“well, I don’t even have an agent yet. I’m a nobody and don’t care if I ever become anything as long as I get to work and enjoy my life. It’s about film not about fame or renown. Honestly, I don’t come from big money so I’ll never be allowed a huge opportunities. Especially, not here. It’s a very closed off place.”
